Third time’s a charm, or in our case the fourth time’s a charm. We hope.
It took several days and a very determined Lazy Days Service Tech named Dan, but we think our Big Rig leak issue is resolved. I’m knocking on wood and crossing my fingers (and toes) as I type this.
Time, and Ohio weather, will confirm either way.
We left Lazy Days in Seffner Florida on Friday the 13th. We love to push our luck. We headed north to Ohio. The trip is easy and barely requires a GPS – you jump on Interstate 75 North and keep going.
The first day we drove 523 miles. That’s a serious travel day in the Big Rig. In addition to our usual riveting conversation, geology, wildlife and alfalfa, we had a debate about ‘other’ drivers.
We spent the first night at our favorite overnight spot – a Cracker Barrel in Calhoun Georgia. Of course we ended our day with dinner at CB and started the next day with breakfast at CB. Yes, we both love Cracker Barrel. What’s not to love?
The second day we drove 431 miles. The goal was Cincinnati Ohio. My little brother, Clint and his wife, Tina, live in Cinci. Finding a campground was a challenge. We ended up at Cozy-Dale Campground in Goshen, Ohio.
We didn’t exactly fit in.
The campground is set up perfectly for small rigs and tents. It also has three fully stocked fishing ponds. Other Half saw some pics of trophy size fish caught there. Impressive.
Getting parked was a hassle. We maneuvered through low hanging branches and narrow turns. Eventually we got into their one and only “big rig” spot. The people were super friendly, but clearly had no idea what a big rig was. We won’t be back.
We had a great dinner with Clint and Tina, spaghetti with Snickerdoodles for dessert. After dinner, Clint did what he always does – helped us with Apple issues. Other Half and I both have iPhones and iPads. I also have a Macbook. Clint is our family expert on everything Apple. (I keep a Clint list on my iPhone.)
Sunday morning we left Cinci and continued our trek north. We drove 202 miles to our final destination in Walbridge, Ohio. We plan to spend the summer here. I’m happy, happy, happy to be here. I love life on the Open Road, but in my heart, Ohio is home.
In case you wondered, this was our ‘other driver’ debate: Because another driver is an idiot, does that give you the right to respond accordingly?
As you can probably guess, we have differing views. What’s your view?
