Time in the Magic Kingdom is always good. Daughter and I spent a great day in Anaheim California at Disneyland. As a SoCal resident she has a season pass. To the SoCal locals, Disneyland is kind of like Cedar Point is to NW Ohioans. It’s a repeat visit kind of place. It was my first Disneyland visit, her fourth.
We arrived about noon on a cloudy day. I naively expected the weather to minimize the crowds. Not so much. We started our day on Space Mountain. Space Mountain is significant in our family. When daughter was six years old we took a family trip to Disney World in Florida. We stayed in our fifth wheel trailer in Fort Wilderness on Disney property. This camping stuff goes way back for us,
Being a big talking six year old, she was super excited to ride Space Mountain. If your’ve never ridden it, Space Mountain is an enclosed roller coaster completely in the dark. Intense, even for grown ups. The three of us waited in line and at the last minute she didn’t want to go on the ride – but it was too late – we were already in the car. Off we went.
This was her first and last roller coaster ride for almost twenty years! I never expected to sit next to her on a roller coaster again. I finally felt forgiven.
We continued riding all the fast rides we could find. It really is a magical place. Oh, and we walked 25,000 steps. Kicked my butt but worth it.
The next day we went to downtown LA and enjoyed amazing ramen. This place was in Japan Town. It was worth the drive. We followed up with bubble tea. Perfect couple of days.
