We are winding down our two weeks at Palm Springs Thousand Trails Campground. The palms here are beautiful and if it wasn’t for the sand and the wind, this place would be perfect. I’ve never vacuumed so many times in a two week period in my life.
Besides vacuuming it’s been a busy two weeks. We celebrated our 36th anniversary at The Yard House with black and tans. Good food. Great beer. Perfect.
We celebrated Jordan Spieth winning the Masters with dinner at Arnold Palmer’s restaurant. Other Half has a high school friend here who has become his desert golf buddy.
He and his wife invited us. The restaurant is full of golf memorabilia. We took it all in and then settled onto the stunning patio for adult beverages and a great meal.
We celebrated our beautiful daughter, Meg’s birthday. She drove down with her pooch, Beesly, from North Hollywood to spend her birthday with her folks. We hung out, walked the mutts, hit the mall and had steaks at Outback. We’ve enjoyed being within a few hour drive of each other over the winter. We’re heading back east for the summer months. We’ll miss each other for sure.
We enjoyed watching a pair of Road Runners scurry through the park. We saw them daily on our morning walks. They did not seem too worried about nearby humans or mutts. Only one of them let me take a pic.
We also solved the mystery of the hanging ladders from the gigantic palm trees. The trees are in the 50-60 year old range. The ladders were used for pruning when the trees were shorter and prior to the use of bucket trucks.
The other thing that happened while here was a lot less fun, at least for me. Stomach bug. Not fun and lasted almost a full week.
