For the past week, we have been camped at the RiverPoint RV & Marina in Stockton, CA. This campground has been unlike any we have experienced thus far. The Big Rig is parked within 6 feet of the banks of the San Joaquin River. Everyday we have enjoyed cruise-ship-like views. It’s been amazing.
This river is busy. Since we have been here we have seen ocean freighters, sail boats, bass boats, kayaks and an assortment of other watercraft. The freighters are the coolest. We have seen five ships since we arrived. Two were heading into the Port of Stockton, escorted by tugs. Three ships were heading out. The Port of Stockton is the second busiest inland port on the west coast.
The reason we are in Stockton is to visit my brother and his wife. They recently moved into a beautiful 55 and up community nearby. The Big Rig is a little too big to park in their driveway. We picked this place based on proximity. It’s more than worked out.
The sunsets here have been amazing and different everyday. I know that’s the norm with sunsets, but as a person who seldom took the time to appreciate Mother Nature’s nightly show, I’m in awe.
Can’t resist. One more gift of Mother Nature. Life is good.
