Our month at Mission Bay RV Resort in San Diego flew by. I know that’s cliche, but man is it true. On one hand I’m kind of sad to leave. On the other I’m ready to go. The whole point of the Big Adventure in the Big Rig is the adventure part. And when your home has wheels and an appetite for diesel that means m-o-v-i-n-g.
I’m reminding myself of the point of the Big Adventure as I’m feeling the pull of my comfort zone. A month here gave us all, pooch Rigby included, a chance to settle into routines. Not just settle into them, but get totally comfortable. That’s not a bad thing it’s just something I’m more aware of now that our day-to-day life has been turned upside down.
We’ve enjoyed Mission Bay and plan to return. Here are a few of our favorite things from our time here. The fabulous views on our daily walks is tops on my list of favorite things and something I will miss.
We’ve enjoyed the goofy ducks that call Mission Bay home. We called these ducks the “Butt Ups” because they constantly stuck their heads underwater and their butts straight up. The one on the left posed for the picture.
While we were here we saw a big variety of camping options. Huge motor homes and fifth wheel trailers of all sizes. We also saw A LOT of Airstream trailers. This was odd for us, as we seldom see an Airstream in our home state of Ohio, and that’s where they’re made. Airstreams come in three sizes, cute, cuter and cutest.
We also saw an ‘Extreme RV’ from Switzerland. It came in the day before we left. We stalked the campsite most of the day in hopes of talking to the owner, but no luck. (I’m guessing he’s an international spy.)
The amazing sunsets will be missed. But like Other Half reminds me – it’s the same sun everywhere we go. True. My appreciation for the beauty of sunsets has grown since we’ve been on the road. I’m guessing taking the time to actually watch the sun set could be the reason why.
Not everything has been turned upside down since we started our Big Adventure. We still start our day having coffee (in silence) sitting in our chosen spots. Only now those spots are in the Big Rig not the big house.
