It’s beautiful here in San Diego. Last year at this time Other Half and I were happily snowed in like the rest of Toledo, Ohio. Well, one of us was happy. You can guess which one. At some point during that snowy month of February, we made the life-changing decision to move into the Big Rig.
The decision took some processing, at least for me. I looked around our beautiful home, full of lots and lots and lots of stuff and couldn’t imagine letting go. Letting go sounded good. But could we pull it off?
It took some time and included some tears but we pulled it off.
This winter we are enjoying blue skies and warm temps. The Big Rig has made a big difference in our lives.
No regrets.
I don’t miss the stuff. (I do miss family and friends, but that’s a story for another day.) I also miss knowing where my stuff is. You’d think living in 320 square feet, it would be easy to keep track of your stuff. When we can’t find something we ‘thought’ we had, we go through the possibilities: did we sell it, donate it, gift it, store it, pitch it or hopefully — bring it? We’re never sure.
Then we give up and decide we don’t need it anyway.
Back to enjoying the blue skies. Oh look, the Goodyear blimp. Life is good.
We may be away from snowy Toledo but our hearts are with our hometown. D. Michael Collins, the Mayor of Toledo, passed away today. He had suffered a cardiac arrest while driving. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Toledo has lost a great man.
